Goodwin’s Seacoast Antiques - Close Ups of My Collection

Here are some close-ups of some pieces in my collections.

All of the items pictured on this page are my own personal collection, and are not for sale. Click HERE to see all that I have for sale!

This first photo is a plate made by Wedgwood circa 1840. The pattern name is CALIFORNIA and is marked on the back with the Wedgwood banner, the name of the pattern inside a circle, and the words "REAL PEARL WARE" going around the circle. There is also a registry mark. California is one of my favorite transferware patterns! If I remember right, I bought this plate on eBay!

Below is a flow blue plate. The pattern name is TEMPLE and was made by Podmore, Walker circa 1840. It has a good sized chip in the side that has been filled in and blued over, but I don't care. I bought this plate at an antique store in Hampton, NH. You would not believe this store! It was a one story, low building right on Rt 1. It was so jammed packed full of STUFF that it was scary! I didn't dare carry my pocketbook in there for fear of knocking something over. There were rows of tables stacked with glass and china. There were cabinets and cupboards so full the doors wouldn't close. There were stacks of plates from the floor taller then the tables. There were tiny isles that a person could only slide through sideways. There was junk, good stuff, and wonderful stuff. It was unbelievable! The owner told me that his mother and his sister spent the past 30 years going to auctions, going to yard sales, going to estate sales, just buying, buying, buying. And just stacking stuff in this building, maybe opening it up once in a while to sell. And that's not all, he said. There was another smaller building in the back full, and a trailer that was full. He was trying to sell it all, but not having much luck. Mostly because he was selling things at the book value. But the blue on this plate just blew me away. So I paid the $85 for it. And I love it!
