This is a very pretty little painting, oil on board. No signature that I can find, although I did not take it apart. With the frame, the size is 6 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches. It needs a good cleaning. There is a 2 inch "crack" in the paint on the left hand side. This crack can be seen in the closeup photo, it runs from left to right, slightly downward, in a tight zig zag line. The scene is a line of trees, looks like they are blowing in the wind a bit, with a field in the foreground. There is a mound of drying hay in the lower right hand corner. The sky is light with clouds. I think with a good cleaning, the sky would be bluer than it looks now. The frame is a light wood, with a faux gold finish. I'm sorry that I cannot give an age for this, but I do not know the history. |
