This quilt measures 54 inches by 80 inches ... meant for a single sized bed. It is hand tied with pink cotton thread. It looks like the hemming was done by hand. It looks like the patches were sewn together with a machine. Most of the patches feel like cotton to me. The backing is a white cotton. I don't know how old it is. The batting is very heavy. The quilt weighs 5 3/8 pounds. Also, on one end, the last 18 inches has no batting. I believe this is so the quilt will drape nicely on the end of the bed, or possibly make it easier to tuck it between the footboard and mattress. There are no tears, no stains. |
