Pretty 9 inch blue transferware soup bowl, in the pattern Byzantium. This bowl, according to its mark, was made by the Cauldon, Ltd, factory, c. 1905-1920. There are two problem areas - one is a 1/4 inch glaze skip in the rim (can be seen in the photos, on the right hand side of the plate), and some roughness on the edge of the plate, which can been seen in the close-up photo. There is also some crazing. |
